Ways To Engage
At OD for Life, we have designed a variety of ways to engage with us, in the hope that everyone who wants to be in relationship with us as a movement and as community members can do so.
From simply keeping up-to-date with ODFL news and invitations, right through to joining us as a gardener (the term for our community members), this page offers an overview of the different engagement levels and how to start engaging.

In ODFL, we recognise that seasonality runs through all things, and we often find the same in people’s engagement. Someone might spend a year or two as an ODFL Friend, and then choose to join the community. Or, someone might join a gathering and then choose to stay tuned.
The below table shows what each engagement level requires and offers.
Then, further down the page is more detailed information about how to start engaging, such as signing up to our newsletter (love letter) and signing up for our Friends calls.

Gathering With Us
ODFL gatherings ODFL hosts two gatherings each year: one in North America and one in Europe. Details of these are announced on our website, in our newsletter, and on LinkedIn.
Our gatherings are typically three days long, in locations that inspire and move us, and are shaped by a core inquiry. The gatherings are a time of shared learning, questioning, exploration, and exchange from which we move towards more tangible action. If you’re familiar with Theory U by Otto Sharmer, you’ll probably relate to this kind of unfolding.

Being a Gardener
Once you have attended an in-person gathering and you want to be an active member, you’ll be considered an OD for Life gardener.
Community calls To stay connected after and in-between gatherings, we host Community Calls. These take place every six weeks and are a space for gardeners to connect and share and hear updates. There is no obligation or expectation that gardeners join these, but we encourage gardeners to do so to integrate what was experienced, learned and uncovered during the gatherings, and to build relationships with other gardeners.
Community Calls are announced on Mighty Networks, and scheduled in our Google Community calendar.
Mighty Networks Mighty Networks is our digital community platform. It’s a community platform designed especially for learning communities. Therefore, it serves as our internal forum to exchange inspiration and thoughts, organize shared actions, connect with each other, store information, access call recordings, and more.
You’ll get invited into our Mighty Networks space after joining an in-person gathering if you intend to become a gardener.
